Barden Precision Spindle Bearings Model Series & Applications

1. Standard Angular Contact Series (1900, 2900, 100, 200)
The Standard Series forms the foundation of Barden's spindle bearing range. These bearings are available in both 15° (1900/100 Series) and 25° (2900/200 Series) contact angles.
Basic Utility: These bearings are designed for general high-precision machine tool spindles. The 15° variant (e.g., 1908H) is optimized for high rotational speeds, while the 25° variant (e.g., 2908H) offers higher axial rigidity for heavy-duty machining.
2. AMS 5898 Stainless Steel Series (S30X)
The S30X Series utilizes a proprietary high-performance stainless steel material (AMS 5898) for both rings and balls.
Basic Utility: This series is engineered for hostile environments requiring extreme corrosion resistance. It is ideal for applications involving exposure to water, acids, or harsh cleaning agents, such as medical devices, chemical processing machinery, and food processing equipment.
3. Ceramic Hybrid Series (C30X)
The C30X Series features steel rings with silicon nitride (Si3N4) ceramic balls.
Basic Utility: Ceramic Hybrid bearings are designed for "Ultra-High Speed" applications. The ceramic balls are 60% lighter than steel, reducing centrifugal forces and friction. This allows for significantly higher operating speeds, lower operating temperatures, and longer grease life compared to all-steel bearings.
4. ZSB Small Ball Series (ZSB 1900, ZSB 2900)
The ZSB (Z-Fine Small Ball) Series utilizes a smaller ball diameter compared to standard bearings of the same cross-section, allowing for a greater number of balls.
Basic Utility: This design significantly increases bearing stiffness. It is specifically used in precision grinding spindles where maximum rigidity is required to achieve superior workpiece surface finishes.
5. Sealed and Lubricated Variants (HVV, Y971, Y972)
Modifications to the standard design indicate sealing and lubrication specifications. The "H" designation indicates a phenolic resin cage, while "HVV" indicates non-contact seals.
Basic Utility: Bearings with the "HVV" designation (e.g., 1908HVV) are fitted with non-contact seals to retain grease and exclude contaminants. These are typically used in grease-lubricated spindles where "lifetime" lubrication is required, or where air/oil lubrication systems are not present.
