NMB’s New ETX900 Series Precision Bearings Launch, Fully Adapted to High-End Heavy-Duty Power Tools

As a global core manufacturer of micro precision bearings, NMB, relying on years of accumulation in precision forging, material modification, and working condition simulation R&D, has newly launched the ETX900 industrial-grade special bearing series to address the extreme usage pain points of current industrial-grade brushless power tools, such as high-speed operation, high-frequency impact, dust and humidity, and large temperature fluctuations. Optimizing material formulation, sealing structure, and clearance ratio in depth, this series accurately matches the core assembly needs of the motor rotor, spindle output end, and gearbox high-speed transmission shaft of high-end angle grinders, brushless impact wrenches, industrial electric hammers, high-speed cutting saws, heavy-duty lithium drills and other main models. Through customized process adjustment, it achieves multiple breakthroughs in stability, wear resistance, and continuous operation life under harsh working conditions.
Three main mass-produced models of the ETX900 series launched this time cover the mainstream power tool installation specifications with small and medium apertures, namely ETX900-608, ETX900-626, and ETX900-694. Relying on self-developed vacuum heat treatment technology and composite sealing technology, they are different from ordinary general-purpose bearing products and fully meet the exclusive supporting standards for high-end power tools.
Summary of Core Model Basic Parameters
Combined with the overall assembly size, load requirements, and speed threshold, the brand has directionally calibrated the parameters of the three main models. All data are measured and calibrated through the full-domain working condition laboratory, suitable for industrial mass installation and use.
| Product Model | Structure Type | Inner/Outer Diameter & Thickness (mm) | Precision Grade | Maximum No-Load Speed (rpm) | Core Load Parameters |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ETX900-608 | Double-sealed Deep Groove Ball Bearing | 8×22×7 | P4 Precision Grade | 36500 | Dynamic Load: 3.98kN / Static Load: 1.82kN |
| ETX900-626 | Compact High-Speed Bearing | 6×19×6 | P4 Precision Grade | 39000 | Dynamic Load: 3.26kN / Static Load: 1.45kN |

In terms of core material configuration, the entire series uniformly adopts high-purity high-carbon chromium alloy steel, which is subjected to secondary deep cold quenching and hardening treatment, with the overall hardness stably maintained at around HRC63. The rolling elements are equipped with silicon nitride ceramic composite balls, matched with glass fiber reinforced modified PA66 integrated cages, with a temperature resistance upper limit of 185℃. The whole series is equipped with C3 special working condition clearance to adapt to the thermal expansion variable generated by high-speed operation. Combined with NMB customized long-acting composite grease, it can maintain lubrication stability in a wide temperature range from -40℃ to 180℃. The double-layer composite rubber contact seal structure effectively blocks dust, water mist, and metal debris from invading the internal structure.
Full-Scale Simulated Test Environment and Measured Performance
To fit the real scenario of continuous operation on offline construction sites and factories, NMB’s Nagano Precision R&D Center in Japan has built a full-dimensional simulation test chamber. In accordance with industry general testing standards such as ISO281 and GB/T307.3, it has completed more than 1200 hours of uninterrupted comprehensive aging tests, recording key data such as temperature rise, vibration, loss, and seal attenuation throughout the process.
In the high-speed durability test link, a constant speed of 26000rpm was set, combined with a constant radial load of 185N, the internal temperature of the environmental chamber was kept at 85℃, and 55mg/m³ mineral dry sand dust was introduced to simulate outdoor construction dust environment. After long-term continuous operation monitoring, the operating temperature rise of the ETX900 series bearings was controlled within 40K, the operating vibration value did not increase significantly, and there were no faults such as abnormal noise, jamming, or clearance deviation. The comprehensive service life was increased by more than 62% compared with conventional commercial bearings.
The thermal cycle impact test adopted an alternating positive and negative temperature cycle mode. A single cycle included 30 minutes of low-temperature standing at -40℃ and 30 minutes of high-temperature baking at 150℃, with a total of 1000 cycle tests completed. After the test, disassembly and inspection showed that the bearing ring had no deformation or cracking, the seal had no aging or hardening, the overall clearance deviation was controlled within 0.003mm, and the structural stability was extremely strong. At the same time, aiming at the high-frequency impact characteristics of power tools, a customized reciprocating impact fatigue test was carried out, with an impact frequency of 125 times per minute and a pressure test of 2.6 times the rated load. After 2 million impact cycles, there were no pitting, spalling, or wear problems on the raceway and rolling elements, which was perfectly suitable for equipment with high-frequency reciprocating operations such as electric hammers and impact wrenches.
In terms of corrosion resistance, through a 500-hour long-term test with 5% concentration sodium chloride neutral salt spray, the anti-rust coating of the bearing surface was stably combined with the base material, without rust spots, and the overall weight loss rate was less than 0.08%, which could meet the long-term use in complex environments such as humid outdoors and chemical workshops.
Product Adaptation Uses and Landing Value
As an exclusive supporting bearing for high-end power tools, the ETX900 series specifically solves the common problems in the industry such as high-speed abnormal noise, high-temperature jamming, seal failure, and short-term wear and scrap. The adaptation scenarios cover all types of industrial-grade lithium power tools.
Brushless lithium drills and screwdrivers prefer the ETX900-608 model, which is installed at the front and rear rotor positions of the motor and the output spindle. Relying on the characteristics of high precision and low runout, it reduces the overall operation noise, makes drilling and tightening operations more stable, and has no obvious vibration during long-term handheld operation. The compact ETX900-626 specification is mostly used for the gearbox high-speed shaft of small grinders and mini cutting tools. Its small size and high-speed characteristics can meet the design needs of lightweight high-end handheld tools.
The ETX900-694 heavy-duty angular contact structure is the core supporting component of heavy-duty angle grinders, industrial electric hammers, and high-power cutting machines. Relying on strong axial and radial bearing capacity, it offsets the lateral impact force generated during grinding, chiseling, and cutting processes, reduces spindle jitter, improves the flatness accuracy of the working section and chiseling surface, and greatly reduces the overall failure rate.
At present, the new NMB ETX900 series bearings have completed process finalization and mass production, and have successfully entered the supply chain system of many leading high-end power tool manufacturers in China. Relying on the universal design that can be directly replaced without mold modification, it can quickly complete the upgrading and iteration of old products. Starting from the core transmission components, it helps high-end power tools achieve product upgrading of high durability, low failure rate, and full working condition adaptation, and further consolidates the supporting advantages of precision bearings in the high-end market of lithium power tools.
